Barbados is the most eastern island of the Caribbean, 21 miles long and a smile (14 miles) wide with a population of 300,000 people. Don’t let the fact that Barbados is a small island fool you. What Barbados lacks in size, it makes up for in charm.

Barbados has a year round tropical climate that vary from 27 – 30 degree Celsius most of the year and given it’s eastern position is rarely affected by hurricanes.

Barbados is a coral island with all white sand beaches and has pure drinking water.

Home to the oldest Rum in the world, Mount Gay first dates back to 1703.

Barbados was the only vacation destination in this Hemisphere with a scheduled Concorde service. One of the retired British Airways Concorde’s now resides at our international airport.

Barbados has the third oldest parliament in the world, with uninterrupted parliamentary governance since 1639.

Visitors highlight the friendliness of Barbadians as the island’s greatest and most pleasing asset. This is reflected in the highest repeat visitor factor in the region of 39%.

When to Visit Barbados

Barbados is just north of the equator, the climate is considered to be moderately tropical, and temperatures typically range from between 27-30 degrees Celsius and 70 – 76% humidity for most of the year.

December to May is considered the dry season in Barbados and also considered the ‘winter’ period.

The wet season begins in June and runs until November, the ‘summer’ months for the island. This season also brings with it the Caribbean hurricane season, although Barbados continually tends to be spared the direct hit of any major storm.
